Surviving an illness w/Kaiser Permanente

Wed Jan 23, 2008 at 05:07:07 PM PDT

I wound up very sick a few weeks ago and ended up in the hospital for the first time in my adult life.  I was treating myself at home for about 2 weeks for a very bad cough and high fever until I decided I might be seriously ill.  DUH!

I called the advice nurse at Kaiser and she made an appointment for me to see a doctor same day.  My appointment was the last of the day, and after listening to my lungs and asking repeated questions, the doctor called the ER and consulted with a doctor there.  They decided I should go to the ER.

I arrived at the ER about 6PM and was taken in for triage within about 1/2 hour.

Why do we feed the trolls?

Mon Oct 01, 2007 at 02:21:17 PM PDT

As Dkos becomes more popular and famous, we are attracting lots of obvious trolls.  As the MSM recognizes us as an enemy of their cozy, lazy way of doing "journalism", this will increase.  And, as we gain more political clout, the right wing nut jobs will try to discredit us.

These trolls are trying to distract us from our purpose.  When you waste time and effort on a troll diary, you lose that same time for advocating, educating and learning.  And they win.

We used to have a method of dealing with them.  Commentors would immediately start posting recipes to "feed the trolls".  This was an instant message to anyone entering that they were at a troll diary and could move on..
