Huckabee on Wright: Obama must lose

Wed Apr 30, 2008 at 04:50:49 PM PDT

Once again, Mike Huckabee puts his finger on the pulse of another ordained minister, and times the heartbeat with accuracy and precision:

Huckabee says Obama's former pastor needs him to lose

Clinton pitches plans to battle rising energy prices

Fri Mar 14, 2008 at 09:58:58 PM PDT

First, this is an energy diary, not a candidate diary.  I used the headline for a news story on Clinton's plan, and I'll go through her comments here.  But the bottom line is that there is nothing that our favorite candidate, whomever he or she may be, will be able to do to lower energy prices in the near term, or likely the long term.  If we want lower energy prices, we'll need demand destruction.  That's not going to be pretty.

Here's the news story that goaded me to write.

I'm feeling super, or is it automatic?

Tue Feb 26, 2008 at 07:01:15 AM PDT

Geraldine Ferraro has a fascinating op-ed today in the NYT that's worth a read.  She manages to roll two hotly-contested debates we've been having into one poorly-stated argument.  She addresses the role of superdelegates (or is that automatic delegates?), and the fate of the Florida and Michigan primaries.  The logic is just amazing.  Here's the link:

It takes a village plagiarist

Mon Feb 18, 2008 at 07:25:01 PM PDT

I'm new to the Daily Kos scene, and have been following much of the bitter back-and-forth between Barack and Hillary supporters.  I was raised Republican, switched to Independent about a decade ago, and now am a registered Democrat.  My disgust with the GOP is thorough, but I'll have to say that the Democratic establishment is not much better.  Take Hillary's attack on Barack today for plagiarism.

The definition of "hope" and "change"

Fri Feb 08, 2008 at 02:21:07 PM PDT

What do those of us who support Barack Obama think when we think about "hope" and "change"?  It's not a squishy concept when we see the concrete challenges this country faces, challenges that will engage us for generations.  Think about global warming.  Think about our energy infrastructure.

Here's a quote from Frank LaMere, Chair of the Native American Caucus of the Democratic National Committee.  I think it would be hard to come up with a better definition of "hope" and "change".
